For 2023, the Jaguar E-Pace holds its place as the small crossover in the brand’s lineup, a petite sibling to the sportier F-Pace. The E-Pace is a hot-handling wagon powered by a turbo-4, which means vehicles like Volvo’s XC40, Audi’s Q3, and BMW’s X2 are natural rivals.

This year, Jaguar trims the E-Pace lineup to just one model: the E-Pace SE, which was formerly the mid-tier trim. The base E-Pace and the performance-oriented E-Pace 300 Sport are no longer available.
It still looks good, though, with a sharp profile and elegant interior. The LED headlights emphasize a trim grille to bring Jaguar’s signature elegance to an otherwise somewhat squat design. The cabin gets quality materials and trim, and the infotainment system is housed in a well-integrated 11.4-inch touchscreen display.
The E-Pace SE comes with a turbo-4 that makes 246 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, and it’s estimated for 0-60 mph sprints of 7.0 seconds, according to Jaguar, though it’s loud, and the 9-speed auto transmission is easily confused.
There’s seating for four and the cargo hold accommodates 24.2 cubic feet of cargo; that’s more interior space than its footprint and dimensions reasonably imply. Up front, the seats are comfortable and offer plenty of adjustments, and though the rear seats offer decent leg room, head room suffers under the raked rear roofline.
The E-Pace hasn’t been crash-tested by the IIHS or NHTSA, which isn’t unusual for a low-volume luxury vehicle. Standard features include automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera, and parking sensors, and a head-up display is available.
