The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will costs $34,995, including a $1,395 destination fee, when it goes on sale later this year. The electric crossover will have a 319-mile range, Chevy announced Monday.
The first Equinox EV to launch in coming weeks is the Launch Edition, priced at $48,995 and loaded with everything from heated front seats to a 3-year trial of GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system. It seems unlikely it will have the same 319-mile range since it rides on 21-inch wheels, compared to 19-inch wheels on the base 1LT.
The five other trims will be ready for purchase mid-year, Chevy said.
All versions come with a single motor in front-wheel drive, and they all qualify for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit. Changes to the credit mean that eligible shoppers can take advantage of the credit at the dealer point of sale, instead of waiting to do their taxes. The base Equinox EV 1LT would cost $27,495 with the credit, making it the most affordable electric vehicle on sale. The 2024 Nissan Leaf costs $29,235, but has a range of only 149 miles in the base configuration.
