AutoHunter Spotlight: 1977 Pontiac Trans Am

Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by, is this 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Power comes from an L78 400cid V8 backed by a Turbo Hydra-matic three-speed automatic transmission. The instrument panel consists of a 100-mph speedometer, 6,000-rpm tachometer with integrated clock, and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and water temperature. The odometer reads 50,063 miles, which the selling dealer claims to be accurate.

Power is provided by the reportedly original 180-horsepower L78 400 backed by a Turbo Hydra-matic three-speed automatic.

This Pontiac was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear-drive axle with a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
